Programs

When young people step into a CIC initiative we give them the tools, methods, skills and mindsets to Think Beyond, Connect Across and Do New.

Innovate and bring bold and inspired ideas to life

Young people work in teams to generate crazy good ideas that showcase new and ingenious ways to care for our planet and enable more people to live, healthy, fulfilling, prosperous and connected lives.

Social Innovators (SI)

Around half of all teams participating in Social Innovators want to bring their idea to life. This means we have a pipeline of talented young Aussies with crackingly good ideas. The i2L Lab provides teams with the coaching, skills and resources they need to collaborate with business and community in bringing their idea to life.

Ideas to Life Lab (i2L Lab)

Partners set young people a challenge to tackle some of the big issues impacting on society and business. These challenges can engage thousands of young Australians or connect to a more specialised cohort for a targeted challenge.

Crazy Good Challenge Series (CGCS)

Get future ready, kickstart careers and activate talent pathways

Young people explore the future world of work, clarify their talents, consider career options and identify the contribution they want to make through their careers. Young people establish a Future Ready Plan that sets out the actions they will undertake to set themselves up for vocational success.

Future Ready (FR)

CIC is partnering with business, Councils, community and schools to match young people into their first part time job. We coach and coordinate so that all parties are set up for success. When you stick the landing on that first job, you turbo-charge your career open new possibilities.

First Job Matters (FJM)

Discover, lead and learn

Extends the capacity of young people to lead change in their school and communities. L4i highlights four aspects of leadership that help young people lead in ways that are consistent with their values and strengths: Leadership and the Self, Leading with Others, Leadership Tools and Practices, and Making a Positive Impact. The model supports their ongoing development as leaders by making it easier to learn as they lead.

Lead for Impact (L4i)

CIC delivers thought provoking and lively workshops covering a range of topics:

  • Equip young people to thrive in a world that’s on the move

  • Discover the waves of change sweeping across the globe and the implications and opportunities that flow for young people

  • Understand the trends that will shape the future of learning and education

  • Learn how young people are reimagining and reshaping the world of work

  • Map the trends that will redefine how young people connect and contribute to place and community

  • Use think beyond, connect across and do new to break through

  • Generate innovate ways for young people to make their mark in civic and economic life

Professional Development (PD)

A bit more about our approach:

CIC programs are robust and delivered in a creative and lively manner. We draw from the best bits of future thinking, human centred design and innovation.

Young people build capabilities that are highly valued by business and community:

  • Personal agency and initiative

  • Collaboration – being a good team player

  • Creativity and problem solving

  • Reliability and a doer’s orientation – we want the action to match the talk

As they build their skills and confidence young people step into new opportunities to contribute to economic and civic life. CIC’s promise to young people is that we will springboard you into new frontiers and adventures. We will

  • Lift your sights and light up new possibilities;

  • Challenge you to lean into your unique dreams, talents and gifts;

  • Make it OK to care deeply for the world and the issues that matter to you;

  • Ignite a belief that you can take decisive action and make your mark.

Programs and projects foster collaboration between young people, schools, business and community. CIC fine tunes the design of programs and projects so that they deliver the value that is most important for partners. Programs are typically delivered through a combination of workshops, coaching, learning resources and the building of connections and pathways for action.

CIC provides micro-credentials for participants to substantiate their skills.

Programs have been mapped to The Australian Curriculum.
